Adam Lindsey Roy Cobb is being held in custody on charges of aggravated sexual assault of a victim under 16; and having sexual intercourse with a child aged between 10 and 14.
Detectives allege Cobb met the 13-year-old girl at a Tamworth park on September 5 last year, invited her back to the guesthouse and allegedly abused her.
The 33-year-old did not appear in Tamworth Local Court on Thursday, when his Legal Aid solicitor called his case.
