Fire and Rescue NSW Duty Commander Peter Nugent said the home at Culgoora Road in Wee Waa was left completely destroyed after a three-hour battle to extinguish the blaze.
Emergency crews were called to the scene at about 5.50pm.
Fire and Rescue NSW dispatched three crews to the scene, and were aided by Rural Fire Service, police and ambulance crews, he said.

Both occupants of the house, a 34-year-old woman and an 8-year-old boy, suffered burns to their arms and legs in the blaze, according to NSW police.
They were taken to Wee Waa Hospital for treatment for injuries described by the police as "non-life-threatening".
Mr Nugent said a homeowner was a keen shooter and reloader and had stored weapons and ammunition stored at the rear of the building.
Fire crews were hindered from getting close by the ammunition cooking off, he said.
Firefighters set up an exclusion zone around the section of the house until the were sure all the ammunition had cooked off.
Crews were also hindered by a lack of water at the rural property - at one point they ran out entirely, he said.
The property was left "completely destroyed", police said.
Officers from Oxley Police District established a crime scene at the house and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
They are not treating the fire as suspicious.
It's the second housefire in the region in just days. A Gunnedah home was damaged fire on Tuesday.
