Case adjourned in Tamworth court for Hamish Norman Harrison, accused of possessing child sex abuse material

Hamish Norman Harrison did not appear in Tamworth Local Court when his case was called on Wednesday, but solicitor Richard O'Halloran asked for his client to be excused.

The Commonwealth DPP - which is prosecuting the case - solicitor Julia Detheridge told the court the matters were not ready to progress.

"I can indicate that I am engaged in ... discussions," she said.

Ms Detheridge asked the court for a short adjournment, which magistrate Julie Soars granted.

The case will go back to court in June and Ms Soars ordered Harrison to appear if the matters were ready to move forward.

"On that date it might be ready for committal?" she asked.

"Yes," Ms Detheridge replied.

Harrison is facing three charges relating to the possession of child sex abuse material. He has not yet been required to enter pleas.

The East Tamworth man was arrested in September last year and charged by Oxley detectives.

Harrison was granted conditional bail in court after his arrest, which Ms Soars odered to continue.

As part of his bail, he's prohibited from being in the company of any person under the age of 16 years; and must not use a phone which can access the internet, among other conditions.
