In January Alexandra Kellahan was crowned the Northern Daily Leader Queen of Country Music. The then 23 year-old was crowned over of 11 other contestants for her love of Tamworth and Country Music and her interest in civic and community involvement. Since the January 28 announcement, Alexandra has become a regular face at community events around the town.

Alexandra joined the Queen of Country Music quest because she is a born and raised country girl who loves her city.
“I have always dreamed of becoming more actively involved within the community and becoming a positive representative of the region,” she told The Leader in November, 2017.

“Therefore, I thought what better way to kick start my civic and community involvement than the Country Music Festival Queen Quest Competition.”
Her competition was sponsored by H&L Plastering, who are a relatively new and locally owned business in Tamworth owned by young locals. Alex said she was excited about getting behind a new local business.
Alex was delighted when she was crowned Queen of Country Music at the Tamworth Jockey Club.

“I look forward to what I can bring to Tamworth in 2018 and I can’t wait to bring what Taylor [Fletcher] and Tara [Grant] have brought to the community,” Ms Kellahan said.
“I was born and raised right here and intend to grow old in Tamworth. I am so thankful for this experience.”

Since then it’s been go-go-go for Queen Alex and her offsider 2018 Princess Cheyanne Conlon.
Alex has attended man great community events, including judging the best water in NSW at the final in April, supporting the Pirates event to raise money for Motor Neurone Disease and attending the Westpac Helicopter Fundraising Ball in March.
