Yet turn the clock back to early 2020, the region remained in the grip of one of the worst droughts on record and water security was at centre stage.
For Tamworth Regional Council, improving water security for town water supply continues to be a priority.
It's why Tamworth region business owners and managers are being encouraged to tell us before May 3, 2022 exactly how the 2017-2020 drought and water restrictions impacted on their day-to-day operations.
Council has commissioned the 'Economic benefits of a more reliable water supply for Tamworth' study and it needs input from local business to help document the financial reality of the drought.
Director of Water and Waste, Bruce Logan, says capturing real life business experience from the drought is crucial to influencing improvements to water security into the future.
"Without business input into the study, Council can't capture the full extent of economic impact that the drought and water restrictions had on our local economy.

"This study aims to analyse and understand how the drought impacted on productivity, employment, profit and output."
This project is being undertaken in partnership with the Regional Australia Institute (RAI) and CSIRO.
To help inform the study, business owners and managers are urged to complete a short survey which can be found at www.haveyoursay.tamworth.nsw.gov.au
"Completing the survey will assist in identifying the impact of the drought and associated water restrictions on the broader liveability of the Tamworth region, and the subsequent impacts on population growth," says Mr Logan.
The results of the 'Economic Benefits of a More Reliable Water Supply for Tamworth' study will strengthen Council's position when lobbying state and federal governments for funding to increase water security.
The survey closes on Tuesday 3 May 2022.
