The man, aged in his early 20s, is still yet to be formally identified, Oxley police said, but it's understood he lived at the property in Premer Street.
A blaze broke out in the home just before 7am on Thursday and took hold.
Fire crews worked to douse the flames but the man's body was discovered in the charred remains of the house by emergency services shortly after.

No one else was home at the time, police said.
The fire is not believed to be suspicious, but on Friday, Oxley Detective Acting Inspector Jason Darcy said inquiries are continuing into the hours leading up to the blaze.
"Detectives are making a number of inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the fire," he said.
"Those investigations are continuing, and police have examined the scene and that will form part of the brief of evidence to go before the coroner."
Detective Darcy said the coroner would ultimately rule on the cause of death.
