New England police claim they were pelted with objects thrown from a Ford Laser during the chase late on Thursday night.

New England officers started patrolling the Boggabilla township and spotted the vehicle shortly after.
When they signalled for the driver to pull over, officers claim the car sped off and a chase was initiated.
The pursuit continued north on the Newell Highway and police allege it was at high-speeds and occupants hurled objects from the car at chasing police.
The Laser slowed down just outside of Boggabilla and one of the occupants fled from the car, on foot.
The car then continued and crossed back in Queensland at Goondiwindi where police on that side of the border deployed road spikes. The car hit the spikes and the tyres deflated and came to a stop on the Leichhardt Highway.
Police claim the driver attempted to flee on foot, but he was chased down and arrested.
The 19-year-old from Goondiwindi was taken to the Toowoomba Watch house where checks revealed his licence is disqualified until 2023.
New England police said the man will face charges of police pursuit - drive dangerously; failing to comply with a request or signal to stop; and driving while disqualified for the NSW offences.
He is due to appear in Boggabilla Local Court in early August.
Police said investigations into the identity of the passenger who fled near Boggabilla are continuing.
The man is expected to face several charges from Queensland police.
