Carroll's Scott Davies is hoping to be an important part of that, as he joins the bash for a third time with his 1984 Mercedes 380 SEL.
He will be part of the event's NRL crew, who is hoping to raise tens of thousands to help children with purchasing therapeutic or medical items and services, mobility equipment and communication or educational aides.
"It's about raising money and it's an excuse to have fun at the same time," he said.
"I'm part of the NRL team and we have a total of nine cars that are entered, we have three team members in our car and as a group we're collectively raising $70,000 to $80,000 each time we do it."
The seven-day event will launch on May 16 and cover much of the North West on its route - including Gunnedah, Boggabri and Armidale - stopping in at several schools along the way.
Mr Scott said his experience in 2018 and 2019 was incredible, and he is looking forward to completing the journey again.

"It's just a great way to see part of the countryside that you wouldn't see normally," he said.
"I think there's about 120 cars and 300 people, and you meet people from all sorts of walks of life and we're all there to have a bit of fun and raise money for kids at the same time."
The Variety Bash isn't the only thing Mr Scott uses his special Mercedes for, having previously taken it on Christmas gift runs.
It is certainly a popular vehicle around Carroll, with the proud owner admitting it turns a few heads at times.
