Benjamin James Thornley was excused from appearing in Tamworth Local Court for the first time this week, after his arrest in early February.
His Legal Aid solicitor Wendy McAuliffe confirmed her 38-year-old client had denied one charge and would be pleading not guilty to an allegation of dealing with the proceeds of crime.
Thornley pleaded guilty to five separate charges of possessing a prohibited drug.

Strike Force Raptor, backed by Oxley detectives and the local Proactive Crime Team (PCT) raided the Robert Street unit on February 2.
At the time, police claimed the raid was part of a firearm prohibition order search operation which occurred at homes in Tamworth, Oxley Vale and Gunnedah.
Police said the operation was a high-visibility blitz to target known and suspected outlaw motorcycle gang members.
Drugs and other items of interest were seized in the raid, police said last month.
