Kyle Smith managed to evade officers for even longer before he was tracked to Newcastle seven months after he was involved in the armed hold-up of the Taminda hotel in 2018.
In sentencing in Tamworth District Court, Judge Deborah Payne sentenced the pair for one count each of robbery armed with an offensive weapon after the incident was captured on CCTV.

Gordon was handed a longer sentence for his part in the robbery. He was jailed for three-and-a-half years, with a non-parole period of 20 months.
The sentence was backdated to May last year, meaning Gordon will be eligible for parole in January next year.
He was also give a discount for his early guilty plea and special circumstances. Judge Payne said she would have jailed him for four years and nine months if it hadn't been for his early guilty plea.
Kyle Smith was jailed for two-years-and-five-months, and must spend at least one-year-and-three-months behind bars before he is eligible for parole.
Judge Payne said she would have handed him a three-year-and-three-month sentence had it not been for his early admission.
The sentence was backdated to May last year when he went into custody meaning Smith could walk free on parole in early-August.
In sentencing, Judge Payne handed Smith a 25 per cent discount for his early guilty plea and found special circumstances in the case because of his background, and submissions put forward by the defence.
Smith wasn't captured until May 8 last year - seven months after the robbery on October 1 in 2018.
Both had a charge of destroying property taken into account in sentencing.
Just before 8.30pm on October 1, 2018, two men armed with knives entered The Pub and threatened staff, before demanding money and fleeing the scene with cash.
Oxley police set up a crime scene and detectives took charge of the investigation, later releasing CCTV images of the suspects they were searching for.
Gordon was arrested by detectives in the Northern Tablelands in January 2019, while investigators tracked Smith to Newcastle, where he was arrested. Both have been behind bars since.
