LOCAL line dancers decided to put their skills to good use over the weekend and dance for rain.
Event organiser Therese Nicol said the Locomotive Line Dances wanted to raise money for farmers battling their way through the drought.
"We were talking about the drought, and someone said we should dance for rain and it eventuated from there," Mrs Nicol said.
"We had some wonderful donations, including some from small businesses who are suffering themselves. That was uplifting to see."
On Saturday, about 80 people packed in to South Tamworth Bowling Club for the day of family fun.
The group is still yet to do a final count on the money raised, but Ms Nicol labelled it a "successful day".
"We're already planning to do another one, some time towards the middle of next year," she said.
The money raised will go to the local Country Women's Association, who will distribute the money to farmers in need.
"It goes directly to the farmers that way, that was very important to us," Mrs Nicol said.
