Chairman and Gunnedah shire mayor Jamie Chaffey said My Community Project was well worth getting behind.
"This is a terrific initiative which allows local people to reflect on local needs. It's a unique opportunity to help secure support for projects that could make a genuine difference in our regional communities," he said.

"While I'm not at all surprised by the high standard of applications from the Namoi region, I am impressed by the different ideas, attention to detail and thought included in each application."
A number of projects within the Gunnedah shire are on the list of potential recipients, including Gunnedah Urban Landcare Group's Pensioners Hill beautification project, The Rotary Club of Gunnedah's bronze koala statues with Tanya Bartlett, Gunnedah and District Soccer clubhouse upgrade and Mornington Tennis Courts fences refurbishment.
"As a joint organisation, Namoi Unlimited is working hard to ensure our region is considered a desirable place to work, live and invest. It's heartening to see so many community-driven projects align with this vision," Cr Chaffey said.
"As our communities battle this drought, every extra dollar allocated and spent in our region is a blessing.
"I encourage everyone to have their say and vote. If we all get involved then together we can send a strong message to Sydney that investment and additional spending is appreciated and always welcome here."
Votes can be cast at the My Community Project website or at Gunnedah's Service NSW centre. Voting closes on Thursday, August 15, with only one vote allowed for up to five projects.
