The event started in America and students are teamed-up to design and build a robot to compete against in an engineering challenge.
The kids built the robots themselves and have been working on their designs for weeks, Makerspace and Digital Learning coordinator Julian Mann.
A number of kids did a custom build with their own ideas and changed and modified the robot.

"There are standard models they can build off the Vex website and they are a good starting point, they work to some degree for the game but they are general," Mr Mann said.
"A number of kids did a custom build with their own ideas and changed and modified the robot.
"It's a combination of engineering skills to design the robot, programming skills if it's a custom build with code for the motors to run on and on competition day it's all about driver skill and cooperating with the other team is a big factor."
