Benjamin John Presbury and Zachary Janezic face a maximum of 20 years imprisonment if found guilty of possessing more than three unregistered firearms, including one that is a prohibited gun.
The 24-year-old pair, both from Baradine, made no bid for bail in Moree Local Court on Monday, following their arrest in a car stop in Narrabri on Saturday night.
Presbury was behind the wheel of the Mitsubishi Pajero about 6.30pm when it was stopped by police on the Newell Highway just out of Narrabri.
Police allege inside the car there were two rifles, two shot guns including a sawn-off, and a handgun.

One of the rifles was reported stolen from a Burren Junction property in January, police claim.
Ammunition, what police allege is cannabis, $4500 in cash, jewellery and a key to a quad bike, which was reported stolen from Baradine in February this year, was also seized by police.
Presbury faces 14 charges including seven firearm offences, goods in custody, weapons and drugs charges and knowingly dealing with the proceeds of crime.
Janezic faces five firearm possession-related charges and neither entered pleas in court.
Magistrate Michael Daikin refused the pair bail and ordered them to remain in custody while police compile a brief of evidence.
The pair will reappear in court in June.
