Tamworth residents will be given the chance to not only meet but also ask questions of candidates standing in the upcoming state election at a Meet The Candidates forum at the Town Hall.
Compared to recent elections this campaign has been relatively mild to date, however voters are urged to “get informed” before going to the ballots for an election that many forecasters predict will see major change.
While standing National’s MP Kevin Anderson will be joined by Shooters, Fishers, Farmers’ Jeff Bacon, Independent Mark Rodda, Labor’s Steven Mears and the Greens’ Robin Gunning, the Animal Justice Party’s Emma Hall declined the invitation.
The free event is an initiative of the Tamworth Business Chamber, and will be facilitated by the ABC’s Caitlin Furlong.
Chamber president Jye Segboer said “the event will enable each candidate to impress upon residents their ability to represent our region.”
“It’s the voters who’ll decide which candidate will lead our region for the next four years, so come along, ask questions about the issues that matter most, get informed, and make your vote count,” he said.
Anyone wishing to register to attend or submit a question must do so prior to March 4 event on the TBC website.
