“My name is Amy Duncan, I am 19 years old, born in Newcastle NSW and raised in Tamworth. I’m a proud Gomeroi woman with a strong connection to my land and culture.

“I believe I am a dynamic young leader within the Tamworth Indigenous community. My role with Training Services NSW sees me working alongside people who are currently undertaking an apprenticeship and/or traineeship.
“I am currently studying my Certificate III in Business Administration and hope to successfully obtain the qualification by May 2019.
“I enjoy my sports and I love playing football. I have been a part of the Group Four women’s league tag competition for six years,
“I am also pursuing my love for league tag in the year of 2019 with the South West Robins.
I’ve decided to join the Queen Quest for 2019 because I want to represent my home town Tamworth and our community in a positive light while bringing aspirations to my younger generation.

“My goal this year is to show my community that if you aim high, you can reach for the stars. I want to help my people and the community to find their purpose and encourage them to do what they love.
“I’ve decided to join the Queen Quest for 2019 because I want to represent my home town Tamworth and our community in a positive light while bringing aspirations to my younger generation.
“I am also following in my sister Samantha’s footsteps who was lucky enough to be named Miss Congeniality of the TCMF Queen Quest for 2018. She has inspired me to be the person I am today.
“This is an opportunity for myself and all the other entrants to grow both professionally and personally.
“I love the Tamworth Country Music festival because it showcases our local talent as well as international talent and you get to listen to great music and share the experience with family and friends.
“It’s where the community comes together to create great functions for our locals and tourists and it’s a time where everyone comes together like a family to enjoy the bliss life of Tamworth and its annual Country Music festival so what is not to love about The Country Music Festival.”
