Josh Boobey and his wife Terry have six kids together – three of their own and three foster children, who are also their own. The Leader caught up with Josh as part of the ‘Our Fathers’ Series in lead up to Fathers’ Day in 2016, which celebrated fathers of all shapes and sizes.

THEY say a father’s heart grows bigger with every child.
If that’s true, then Josh Boobey has the heart of a giant.
The 28-year-old Tamworth man has six beautiful girls with his wife Terry – three of their own and three foster children, who are also their own.
“Being a father means the world to me,” Mr Boobey said.
“Every man wants to be a dad when they grow up, and I'm just blessed to have six beautiful girls to come home to everyday.”
Being so young, the couple aren’t the stereotypical image of foster parents.
“We wanted to help kids that needed help and that was it,” Mr Boobey said.
“They don't get treated any differently. We see them as we see our own kids and we love them as our own.”
The Boobeys became foster parents more than four years ago, and their kids range in age from 18 months to eight years.
The family is always the “star attraction” wherever they go.
“Being so young, walking around with six kids, we get asked a lot of questions - if they're twins or triplets, how far apart they are,” Mr Boobey said.
“We say they're all ours, we see them as our own and there is no need to tell anyone different.
“People just think we don't have a television.”
His wife Terry, being an only child, always wanted to have a big family.
“I come from a large family myself, I've got two sisters and two brothers, so it didn't phase me,” Mr Boobey said, laughing. “Terry loves kids, works in family daycare so there area always kids around our place.”
As you can imagine, Mr Boobey has six big reasons to enjoy Fathers' Day.
“They like to open the presents,” he said, laughing.
“They're the ones that get all excited, even through they know what they got me.”
Some blokes might feel the odd spasm of loneliness surrounded by seven women, but all Mr Boobey feels is love.
He’s already got five of his six girls following his beloved South Sydney Rabbitohs.
“One goes for the Manly Sea Eagles, she's been brainwashed by her pop,” he chuckled.
“I've tried to convert her, but I haven't had any luck so far.”
