That's the message Tamworth Family Support Service (TFSS) is hoping to push as it opens a drop-in hub to raise awareness for domestic violence.
During May, residents will have access to free workshops to encourage conversations and change in the community.
TFSS homelessness and domestic violence manager Lynda Townsend said workshops would involve a series of speakers, playgroups, presentations about the different types of domestic violence and what can be done to stop it.
"Our goal predominantly is to raise awareness," Ms Townsend said.

"It's giving people an opportunity to pop in and ask questions, maybe learn something new, or just find out what services are available in the Tamworth area."
Located at 17 Fitzroy Street, Ms Townsend said she hoped the central location would encourage more people to drop in - as everyone has a role to play in ending violence in the home.
"Domestic and family violence is something that doesn't discriminate across our region," Ms Townsend said.
"If you hear something you think is not quite right certainly reach out, don't be an innocent bystander.
"You may just be the difference between the victim-survivor being able to live a life free of violence, or in the worst case, saving that person's life."
To remember and honour those who have lost their lives to domestic violence, TFSS is also holding a candlelight vigil in Bicentennial Park at 6pm on Wednesday night.
With around 3,500 cases of domestic violence reported to police across the New England region each year, education and awareness is the top priority for the support service.
TFSS CEO Belinda Kotris said the workshops were needed to educate the community around the different types of domestic violence, and how to notice them in a family member, or friend.
"The conversation needs to change to address all forms of abuse, not just physical violence," Ms Kotris said.
"We want to help facilitate those challenging conversations between colleagues between colleagues, students and families to develop positive relationships into the future."
Most of the workshops will be held during lunchtime and will run between 30 minutes and two hours, however the shopfront will be open for drop-ins on weekdays from 9:30am until 3:30pm for the Month of May.
