Peel Highway Patrol officers cover both the Oxley and New England Districts and dished out hundreds of fines during the four-day double demerit period.
Of more than 4000 people stopped for roadside breath and drug testing, 10 returned positive alcohol readings.
"None of those were high-range, but 10 is still 10 too many," Peel Highway Patrol manager Inspector Kelly Wixx told the Leader.
Testing revealed 13 drivers tested positive to drugs.
"That's still a big concern ... I don't think people understand how much of a risk it is to have intoxicating substances in their system," Inspector Wixx said.

Six people were caught not wearing seatbelts and two were using a mobile phone. Inspector Wixx said officers pulled over a car to find two kids unrestrained.
"That's disgusting behaviour ... these children are vulnerable and are reliant on responsible people," she said.
There were no road fatalities in the local area, though there were several serious injury collisions.
Inspector Wixx said driver behaviour generally wasn't too bad.
