Adam John Wilkins, 41, has previously denied two counts of supplying prohibited drugs as well as cultivating a prohibited plant, possessing a prohibited plant, and manufacturing a prohibited drug.
He did not appear in Tamworth Local Court earlier this week when his Aboriginal Legal Service defence solicitor asked for an adjournment.
She said police needed to finalise the evidence in the case.
"Seeking further brief service orders," the solicitor told the court.
Magistrate Darryl Pearce agreed to the delay and ordered police to hand over the evidence brief to defence solicitors within the next month.
The matter was adjourned.

"Defendant to be excused on that date if legally represented," Mr Pearce said.
Oxley police moved on a home in Lemon Gums Drive in Oxley Vale just before 10am on January 28 and the search continued into the weekend.
The raid allegedly revealed a dimethyltryptamine laboratory, large cacti cuttings, cannabis plants and items police said were consistent with the supply and manufacture of prohibited drugs.
Officers had to call on NSW Fire and Rescue, HAZMAT and the special squad of chemical operations police to dismantle the alleged laboratory due concerns about "volatile chemicals" and their "toxic nature".
Wilkins is on strict bail including to not drink or take drugs and he must report to police twice per week.
Correction: An earlier version of this story reported that Wilkins' bail conditions required him to report to police daily. However his conditions had been changed and he is now only required to report to police twice a week.
