Troy Gregory Lance Norman has been bail refused and remains behind bars. He didn't appear in Tamworth Local Court when his case was called last week.
Solicitor Rayshele Martin appeared via video link for the state prosecuting authority, the DPP.
She asked the court to adjourn the matter for two weeks for the Crown to consider the charges that have been levelled against Norman.
Magistrate Julie Soars asked Aboriginal Legal Service defence solicitor Joseph Healy if he had any issues with a short delay for charge certification.

"You don't wish to be heard Mr Healy?" she said.
"No," he replied.
Ms Soars adjourned the case to late September and ordered Norman to appear via video link for the mention, when his case is expected to proceed.
Bail was not applied for at the time, and Ms Soars formally refused it.
Police allege Norman confronted a pizza delivery driver on Edward Street on the evening of May 7.
Police told the Leader at the time that Norman approached the worker and allegedly threatened him, before the altercation continued to West Tamworth Domino's and the alleged victim could alert management.
Norman is facing charges of being armed with the intent to commit an indictable offence; taking or detaining a person with the intent to gain an advantage; and resisting an officer in the execution of duty.
He has not been required to enter pleas.
