Troy Lance Gregory Norman has been in custody since his arrest in May, and appeared via video link in Tamworth Local Court this week.
The court heard evidence had been compiled in the 37-year-old man's case. He is accused of kidnapping and threatening a Domino's driver who was making a Friday night pizza delivery.
Police prosecutor Sergeant Rob Baillie asked for an adjournment so the state prosecuting authority, the DPP, could consider which charges to confirm against Norman.

"Sir, the matter is now proceeding to the next stage," magistrate Julie Soars told the accused.
Police allege Norman threatened and kidnapped a Domino's delivery driver after a dispute over a Friday night pizza order.
Norman is accused of confronting the Domino's employee when he went to drop pizza off at an Edward Street address on the evening of May 7.
Police claim Norman approached the worker and threatened him, before allegedly forcing him to drive to the West Tamworth Domino's restaurant.
The staff member alerted management when he got back to the store and Oxley police officers responded.
Norman was arrested nearby a short time later, and has been bail refused since.
Legal Aid defence solicitor Joseph Healy made no application for Norman's release in court this week, and Ms Soars formally refused him bail.
Norman is facing charges of being armed with the intent to commit an indictable offence; taking or detaining a person with intent to obtain an advantage; and resisting police.
He has not yet been required to enter pleas.
The case was adjourned to September.
