A WOMAN and a man have been charged in connection with am alleged house fire, stolen guns and property in the state's north earlier this month.

The pair were arrested after a police operation in a carpark off Roslyn Lane, Moree, about 1pm on Sunday.
Jabour Clark, 20, was charged with 17 offences including aggravated break and enter; possession of a shortened firearm as well as damage property by fire.
Co-accused 18-year-old Kowhai Roberts was charged with supplying a prohibited firearm to an unauthorised person; supplying a firearm to an unauthorised person; giving ammunition to an unauthorised person; and receiving or disposing of stolen property.
Roberts was granted strict bail in Moree Local Court on Monday, while Clark made no application and it was formally refused. Neither entered any pleas to the charges.
Emergency services were called to a house fire on the Gwydir Highway at Bullarah on August 14.
New England Police District officers and firefighters arrived to find found the house well alight.

A crime scene was established and police launched an investigation into the cause of the fire.
Police claim a number of firearms, approximately 4000 rounds of ammunition and two cars were allegedly stolen from the property before it was set on fire.
During the investigation, police claim they recovered 14 firearms, a large amount of ammunition and an alleged stolen quad bike.
Further inquiries led detectives from Moree to execute a search warrant at a house on Brand Street, where a number of items were seized about 9am on Monday.
