Tamworth's Newcorp Pools has jumped in the deep end and will hand out $500 to people in need of help due to family members losing their jobs or struggling to making ends meet amid an extended lockdown for the region.
The first $500 was given to a mother to help pay for her child's constant medical needs, and Newcorp Pools manager Steven Moujalli said he was ecstatic to be able provide help.
"She was just over the moon, it was unbelievable, she just couldn't believe someone was going to help her and give her some money," he said.
"Her son has cancer and she's got to travel to and from Newcastle for treatment and she's doing it tough herself. It touched my heart so I straight away said yes."

Mr Moujalli said it has been incredibly tough to decide who does and doesn't get the money, and he "hates" being the one who has to filter through all the entries.
After posting the generous offer on the company's social media page, he said dozens of people applied. The high volume of requests even caused him to rethink how much to giveaway.
"There's a lot of people struggling who can't return to work and aren't getting paid, so they're sitting at home and can't support their families, so I was thinking to myself 'if I can help somebody out then I will'," he said.
"I've already given away one lot of $500, I'll probably give away three or four lots just to different families if I can."
Mr Moujalli's effort is among a number of similar giveaways that have been seen over the past couple of weeks, with Summers Westdale Supermarket also showing its charitable nature.
