A MAN is set to stand trial accused of sexually assaulting a teenage boy in Tamworth more than a decade ago.

The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was arraigned virtually in Tamworth District Court on Monday and denied all charges.
Police claim the alleged assault happened back in early 2009, when the accused was in his 20s.
The man replied "not guilty" after each of the allegations on his indictment were read out in court.

The accused has denied charges of aggravated sexual intercourse with a person between the ages of 14 and 16; and two counts of indecently assaulting a child between the ages of 14 and 16.
The police case is that the teenage boy was under the authority of the accused when he had sexual intercourse with the young person between February and March in 2009.
The alleged victim also appeared in virtual court on Monday for the proceedings.
Judge Deborah Payne adjourned the case until later this month when she will set a date for trial.
The accused's bail conditions were continued.
