A publicly-accessible defibrillator has been given to the town by Sharon King Hearing Centre, which recognised the public's need to have one easily available.
There were already two in town, but they were locked away at the fire station and the bowling club.
Community member Anne Doak said the donation is wonderful, and could prove vital given the make up of Bendemeer's population.
"We have an ageing population here and you just never know when something like that would be needed," she said.

"So just making it available 24 hours a day is a better option, so we're very grateful to Sharon for donating it."
Sharon King herself was behind the donation, and decided to give back to the community where she once owned property.
It was community members who took the initiative to go to the local police and request the defibrillator be placed outside the station, so it would be in a location that everybody would know and could access easily.
Ms Doak said the entire community was thankful for Ms King's generosity, and it was a relieving to know it was there, even though she hopes it won't be needed.
