The event runs alongside The Dressmaker exhibition, and encourages locals to bring in a pre-loved item to swap with something from another closet.
It's a fantastic opportunity and the gallery is lucky to be one of only a few in regional Australia to host the exhibition, Tamworth Regional Art Gallery director Bridget Guthrie said.
"We wanted to ensure there were opportunities for our community to get involved," she said.
"Frock Swap involves you coming along with your own frock or garment or accessory, you receive a ticket and then you can select another person's frock or accessory.

"It's what you would lend to a friend, it needs to be of reasonable quality but it's about recycling and repurposing for our community and getting a quality garment with no finances exchanged."
Locals can bring up to five good quality items to swap.
The event starts at 1pm to 3pm on June 5 and June 19 at the gallery and is free to attend.
