Tamworth Regional Council (TRC) has released its draft fees and charges for 2021 to 2022 which covers everything from how much it costs to be buried to pool entry fees for public comment.
Councillor Charles Impey expressed concerns that the fees for room hire at The Youthie could have a negative impact on its use.
"A lot of the rooms over at The Youthie have had dramatic increases in fees and charges and so forth," he said.
"Some of them are 35 to 45 per cent across the board, I was over there not long ago and the comment was the rooms are rarely used.
"If they're going up even further they may never be used."
Commercial use of the auditorium per day will cost $550 compared to $485, and daily consulting room costs will go up by 30 per cent.

And, if the public want to hire the barbecue it will cost an extra $6 each day.
The fees are set based on a commercial evaluation of the space, TRC general manager Paul Bennett said.
"You need to understand that if someone wants to use The Youthie and they are a community organisation, they can apply for a 50 per cent reduction in the fees associated with it," he said. "It's more about saying that if you're a commercial entity and you want to deliver some sort of service on a commercial basis you will pay a commercial fee.
"But there is always an opportunity for community-based groups to seek a reduction in those fees."
Consultation will be undertaken in May as part of the Annual Operational Plan.
