Oxley police said the fire that erupted at the Wee Waa home on the corner of Cowper and Charles Street is not being treated as suspicious.
The blaze broke out just before 4.30am on Monday with Fire and Rescue NSW crews from Wee Waa and Narrabri, including the Hazmat team, along with the RFS deployed.
"On arrival, the single occupant of the house had already made an exit safely and was checked over by paramedics," a Fire and Rescue NSW spokesperson said.

"Due to the intensity of the fire, crews had to fight the fire from the outside. It took approximately an hour to get the fire under control."
The site was declared safe about 9.30am, but the crews were still on site later on Monday extinguishing hot spots, a spokesperson said, which was being fanned by strong winds.
Hazardous materials at the site were also hampering the clean up operation.
