Maddison Maree Bower, 23, remains in custody on three separate cases, after being arrested in a chase in Tamworth last month.
She appeared in Tamworth Local Court via video link from a women's prison, and lodged a bid to live near the Victoria border with a long-standing friend, that was "nine hours and 45 minutes from Tamworth".
Aboriginal Legal Service solicitor Gemma Ridley said the family friend "can provide more support" to her client on bail.

But police prosecutor Senior Sergeant Matt Pawsey said Bower was an unacceptable risk of failing to front court; further serious offending; and endangering the safety of the community.
She has pleaded not guilty to several driving charges but has admitted to one police pursuit, which Sergeant Pawsey argued "she is facing a custodial sentence for".
"There's repetition and breaching of bail," he said.
"Her record doesn't assist her.
"[They're] significant driving matters ... there is a pattern emerging."
But Miss Ridley said Bower could live under home detention; report to police several times a week; not enter Tamworth unless for court; and not get behind the wheel of a car.
Ms Soars said she was concerned how she would make the trip to Tamworth for three separate cases before the court. She said Bower was "facing serious charges", and was looking at jail.
"I'm really trying," Bower interjected, asking to read a letter to the court.
"I'm sure you feel like you wish to get out there in the community on bail," Ms Soars told Bower.
"The experience last time is that it didn't work."
Ms Soars said the bail bid was not enough, and after last time and she could not grant bail. The case returns to court later this month.
"I'm concerned about failing to appear and further offending," she said.
Police claim they spotted the 23-year-old behind the wheel of the white Holden Commodore on Goonoo Goonoo Road about 10.30pm on November 16.
Officers gave chase near South McDonald's, and they allege Bower lost control of the car and it spun out-of-control and struck a police car at the intersection of Hillvue and Duri roads.
