The intruders used a stolen Toyota Prado and targeted the post office at Nemingha, off the New England Highway about 4.20am on Monday.
"The offenders forced the front door and stole a quantity of cigarettes, food and other goods," Oxley Detective Acting Inspector Jason Darcy said.
They didn't make off with cash, but the alarm was triggered and security services were alerted, along with police. The incident was captured on CCTV, which was being reviewed on Monday.

The offenders were all wearing dark coloured hooded jumpers, and fled in the stolen Prado which was taken from a Lancaster Avenue home in East Tamworth.
"Police are appealing for anyone that might have seen that stolen silver Prado travelling along the highway, or around Tamworth in the early hours of Monday," Detective Darcy said.
"We would urge anyone that saw that vehicle to come forward."
Police said a white Toyota Landcruiser was also stolen on Sunday from Taminda in Tamworth and later found dumped in Kootingal.
Investigations are continuing and anyone with information is urged to contact Tamworth police on 6768 2999.
