Despite a successful fire-fighting operation, a Gunnedah home has been severely damaged by a fire which tore through it in the early hours of Sunday morning.
It is the third house fire the local crew have responded to in less than a month.
Fire and Rescue crews from Gunnedah and Boggabri got the call at 5.35am and responded quickly, finding the High Street house well alight.

Thankfully, noone was at home at the time.
Despite classing the operation as a save, Fire and Rescue Station 314 Gunnedah Captain David Welch said there was a great deal of smoke and fire damage to the front of the home.
"The crews worked really hard to contain it, acting really quickly in an offensive manner to control the blaze," he said.
The cause of the fire is currently being investigated.
Residents should make sure they have working smoke alarms, one on each level of their building.
"We recommend you have them outside your bedrooms," he stated.
