A MAN has been flown to Tamworth hospital after he was trapped in a truck crash on Sunday night.

The 45-year-old man was driving the truck when it rolled on the Newell Highway, south of Coonabarabran at about 10pm.
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter responded to reports the driver was trapped in the truck's cabin and suffering serious injuries.

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service said local paramedics and rescue crews on site managed to free the man.
He was transported by ambulance to the Coonabarabran airport, where the helicopter was waiting.
The chopper's critical care team treated the man for head and neck injuries before airlifting him to Tamworth hospital for further treatment.
The service confirmed the man was in a serious but stable condition when he arrived at hospital.
