Sitting down with a few of his mates over a beer to organise a fundraiser, he knew the often-stereotyped community would dig deep for the cause.

Over 200 traveled from as far as Coffs Harbour and Queensland, driving hot rods, prime movers and more.

"Everyone thinks everyone that are in leathers are a bunch of thugs you know," he said.

"But when we were doing the raffles everyone that you asked to buy a raffle ticket, they'd give five bucks."

In January, the pack gathered at Tamworth's The Pub where the hotel's fishing club cooked a meal, then took off, driving through Manilla and Nemingha.

When the day was done, Mr Collins had $5056.50 burning a hole in his pocket.

This week he handed it over, with the cash to be donated through the St Vincent De Paul Society directly to local bushfire victims.

He said he was proud to have an opportunity to help out local people who need it most, while smashing stereotypes at the same time.
