Police are hunting a man after a woman was injured during a break-and-enter at a home in Tamworth overnight.

At about 8.50pm on Monday, a 65-year-old woman was at her home in May Lane in South Tamworth when she was confronted at the rear door by a man who pushed past her to get in.
The intruder entered the woman's home and stole her wallet from a chair.
He then pushed her to the ground before leaving the unit, fleeing on foot.

Oxley police were alerted and set-up a crime scene.
Officers conducted a search of nearby streets but were unable to find any sign of the intruder.
The 65-year-old woman was shaken and suffered minor abrasions from the incident but did not require treatment, police said.
The thief has been described to police as being of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander in appearance and aged in his teens, with a thin build, a moustache and wearing dark clothing.
Police have urged anyone with information or who might have seen the man acting suspiciously in the area to contact Oxley police on 6768 2999.
