The women who have dedicated their time to create change in Tamworth will be celebrated with this year's theme Balance for Better.
With strong nominations across the board there's no doubt judges will have a tough time choosing which women to recognise at the Tamworth Zonta Club awards when the women take centre stage.
"These are the women who are driving the wheels behind the scenes of our society," Tamworth Zonta Club judges representative Jo Lysaght said.
"You have all sorts of levels of society, how it functions with education and government but with the volunteer crew who are passionately doing good - to not recognise that would be a terrible thing for our society.
"Over and above what our judges have noticed is that these women are passionate, dedicated and they've found a niche and a cause that needs help and they're doing it."
There are six awards at the ceremony this year and score's of nominations in each category.
Community champion Veronica Filby is nominated for Tamworth's Leading Lady and Community Leader at the 2019 International Women's Day Empowerment Awards.
She and her husband run a Wheels and Walkers family sports group for children with disabilities to access sport, chairs an advisory group in Currabubula to support the community through drought.
"I guess I volunteer in community everywhere it seems," she laughed.
"It's good to be able to understand volunteering from the management side and being involved and it's a wonderful way to get to know your community and be part of it.
