A DOCUMENTARY capturing dozens of locals who conquered the Great Dividing Range on two wheels for a good cause is set to be broadcast to tens of thousands on Sunday.
The Rode to Rescue feature film – captured by local cinematographer Daniel Raffaele – will screen on Channel 9 on September 9.
Mr Raffaele captured the 2017 Ride for the Chopper, detailing why the 75-plus riders and crew do what they do for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter.
The film also paints the story on how the chopper came to take off in Tamworth in 2000 after a six-year push, spearheaded by Walcha farmer Hamish McLaren.
Using cameras on bikes, a drone and the back of a car, Mr Raffaele captured the gruelling ride and determination of those on the mammoth trek from Woolgoolga to Tamworth.
The shortened documentary will screen on Sunday, September 9 at 1pm.
