The 20-year-old Oxley Vale resident left Wests’ Diggers on Kable Ave on Wednesday night and returned shortly after.
When she was walking through the nearby car park at about 8.30pm, police say she was grabbed from behind by her hair and dragged to the ground.
She was then punched and kicked, and dropped her wallet.
The offenders took a quantity of cash and fled the scene, climbing over the concrete barrier towards the levy bank bike path.
She suffered minor injuries and police were alerted.
Detectives have taken over the investigation and goods seized at the scene will be forensically examined.
Police say both offenders are described as Aboriginal in appearance and were wearing dark hooded jumpers and clothing.
One offender is believed to be aged about 15 to 16 years old with a skinny build, while the second is believed to be 18 to 20 years old with a medium build.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Tamworth police on 6768 2999.
