AT THE end of last term Dungowan Public School held its year 6 farewell assembly.
The year 6 students gave speeches recalling some of their favourite memories and expressing many thanks towards their teachers throughout their primary school years.
A slideshow was presented consisting of baby photos followed by a collection of pictures from school events past and present.
The guests of honour wrapped up the assembly by entertaining parents, students and teachers by performing a talk show sketch, sharing jokes and riddles.
The Dungowan community wish their year 6 students all the best for their new adventures in high school.
Student Success
Dungowan Public School is very proud of all their year 6 students especially Christopher Bracken who placed first in the Farrer Memorial Agricultural High School selective test for which he was awarded a scholarship.
Chris also topped the Nundle RSL Bursary exam.
Thanks to the generous donations of many local residents, he will receive a sum of money each year for up to 10 years to assist with his secondary and tertiary education.
The bursary has been awarded for many years to a year 6 child who is a permanent resident in the Nundle district and attends a local school at the time of the application and awarding. Last year's recipient Josiah Cooper was also a student at Dungowan Public School.
PS Swimming & Water Safety Program
What a great way to end another year of quality education.
Every student of Dungowan PS has been participating in the annual swimming and water safety program at Nundle pool.
This is an excellent program which helps students to be safer and more confident in and around the water.
Local bus owner Mark Campbell provided transport at a low rate and the Department of Education subsidised the fee of fully trained instructors.
The families of Dungowan are especially fortunate to have a hard working P&C who generously paid all remaining costs enabling all students to take advantage of this wonderful program.
