A 14-YEAR-OLD boy has fronted court after allegedly stealing a luxury car before it was involved in a fuel theft and a police chase through suburban streets.

Police were called to reports three men jumped in a Mercedes Benz that was parked at a business on Marius Street just before 6:30pm on Monday, and drove off.
Officers were later alerted to an incident involving a Mercedes Benz where the person allegedly failed to pay for fuel at a petrol station on Gunnedah Road.
Oxley police spotted the luxury car on Cole Road and tried to pull it over, but a pursuit was initiated and continued through Tamworth.
Officers lost sight of the car and the chase was called off.
The Mercedes was found dumped in Hamilton Court and was taken to be forensically examined, but the group had already fled.
Specialist squads from the western region enforcement and high risk domestic violence offenders teams arrested a 14-year-old boy at a Tamworth home about 2:30pm on Tuesday.
He was taken to the local police station and charged with stealing and driving a car, and breaching bail conditions he was already on.
The boy spent the night in custody before his court appearance on Wednesday.

Oxley Detective Inspector Jason Darcy told the Leader police were flat out responding to opportunistic car thefts and break-ins across the city.
"We continually see it, day in and day out, cars that are unlocked with the keys inside," he said.
"It's property crime where cars are left unlocked and houses are left unlocked."
He urged members of the community to lock up and think about the dangers stemming from stolen cars speeding around town under the cover of darkness.
Detective Inspector Darcy said significant resources had been thrown at combating the problem and there had been some significant arrests in the past couple of months.
He said police needed the community's support.
