Festive spirts and nerves are high for Loomberah residents, who will find out the winner of the 'Light up Loomberah' competition this weekend.

Now in it's fourth year, the rural Christmas mailbox and gate decorating competition has been met with enthusiasm with locals.
Run by the Loomberah War Memorial Hall, secretary Liz Blackburn said they had received 28 official entries, but many more houses had also been decorated "just for fun".
The competition was first set up to boost the spirits of Loomberah residents during one of the worst droughts on record.

But for the past two years the focus has been on spreading positivity during the pandemic.
"It's something they can all do from afar and still bring enthusiasm and boost the spirits in Loomberah," Ms Blackburn said.
The festive creations were judged on Tuesday and the winners will be announced at Loomberah's 'Carols Under the Gums' on Saturday night.
While all entrants will be given a gift for their efforts, the winner will take home $200 and a doona worth $300 from Fox & Lillie.
Prizes will also be awarded for second, third, and fourth places and vouchers will be given out as encouragement awards.
