When the victim came outside, he found Hurley going through the bag looking for cash. When he asked him to give it back, Hurley said "Don't come near me or I will kill you. I want money, I want notes".
Despite fleeing the scene on foot, a distinctive tattoo on Hurley's left hand captured on CCTV footage and recognised by the victim, caught him out.
He pleaded guilty to a slew of charges including being armed with intent to commit and indictable offence; two counts of stalk and intimidate; enter a dwelling with intent to steal; stealing under $2000 worth of property from a house; demanding property with menaces with intent to steal and entering enclosed lands without a lawful excuse.
