The 2021 Disability Lawn Bowls Singles Classic will be held at South Tamworth Bowling Club this week.
It comes after West Tamworth's Aaron Kelly and South Tamworth's Des Cross won the state singles and reserve singles, respectively, at the state championships in Belmont earlier this year.
"Because it was two Tamworth guys that won the open singles and reserve singles, they said 'how would you like it if we bought the three day tournament out west'," Cross recalled.

For Cross, it is a chance to showcase, not only Tamworth but also the bowls club that embraced him when he moved to town.
"I love Tamworth. It's a great town. It's got everything you need in it and [it's great] just to show off what we've got and the country spirit," Cross said.
He added: "This club [South Tamworth] has been awesome. I can't fault this club in the way they've let me come in, join up and play out of a [wheelchair] on their green.
"All the people here are so accommodating... they're brilliant."
Cross moved to Tamworth in 2019, three years after he had a bad accident while working.
"I have a T10 incomplete spinal cord injury and it's left me with Brown-Sequard syndrome," Cross said.
Cross and his family made the move to be closer to relatives.
After a few years away from lawn bowls following the injury, Cross found out wheelchair lawn bowls was a thing.
Cross' now been playing for about three years and is glad he re-found the sport he first started playing some 15-odd years ago.
"I had a couple years off away from bowls then got back into it again which has really helped headspace-wise," Cross said.
There will be bowls galore this week with the 2021 Disability Lawn Bowls Singles Classic running from Monday to Wednesday at the South Tamworth Bowling Club.
