Brent Nelson, 27, had his case called in Gunnedah Local Court last week.

Magistrate Peter Thompson adjourned the string of weapons and firearm allegations until next month in the same court, and ordered the accused to appear via video link for the proceedings.

Bail was formally refused.

Court documents show Nelson has already admitted to allegations of entering inclosed land without a lawful excuse; and not complying with a noticed direction during COVID-19, a charge which was levelled against him during the region's lockdown.

Nelson was arrested on August 23 after police allegedly found him hiding underneath a neighbouring house.

Officers zeroed in on Nelson following extensive investigations into a vehicle that was allegedly parked in the carpark of a Gunnedah business earlier that month.

Police allege the purple BMW had false number plates on it at the time.

Officers claim they observed a replica firearm on the floor of the the front passenger side.

A subsequent search of the car allegedly revealed multiple credit cards, jewellery, two knives, a bow and arrow and an expandable baton.

The BMW and its contents were seized and examined by police.

Officers from the Oxley Proactive Crime Team worked alongside Tamworth detectives during the weeks-long investigation.

Nelson is facing several allegations connected to the alleged incident including possessing an unauthorised prohibited firearm; possessing an unauthorised pistol; possessing or using a prohibited weapon; and contravening an AVO.

The case was adjourned to October.
