Ranging from several hundred dollars to several thousand, there is a pool of $61,000 to be handed out to the region's community groups.
One organisation that has benefited greatly from a recurring funding arrangement is the Tamworth Regional Conservatorium of Music, which has been given $29,000 across a number of years.
The money has helped the conservatorium nurture the talents of musicians who would have otherwise not been able to afford the training, according to director Noelene McGrane.
"We use it for financial assistance for families in the lower income bracket, so families apply for those and that provides opportunities for anyone who wants to have a musical education to access that," she said.
"We definitely have had students that have started through the adversity programs that have progressed really well and undertaken exams, they've got up to quite high levels."

Ms McGrane said the impact of the program throughout the years has been substantial, and other not-for-profits should make sure they apply for funding too.
The sentiment was echoed by councillor Helen Tickle, who is part of the panel which decides where the funds are allocated.
"Receiving a small donation can make a big difference to these organisations and represent a real benefit to the community," she said.
"Funds can be used to pay for essential maintenance, build a website or pay for supplies and keep small organisations going during what are already difficult times."

Applications must be submitted by 5:00pm on Tuesday, 14 September 2021.
