Children across the region can still celebrate Book Week this week during lockdown, with a re-imagined event to keep the fun alive, using Lego.
The library's STEAM and Literacy Unit coordinator Jonathan Stilts has encouraged all children to get busy recreating their favoutite book characters or scenes in Lego, with prizes to be won.
"With the Lego challenge, the idea is you look around your house for your favourite book, and then you build a scene or a character out of Lego from that book," he said.
"Then, post a photo of your creation with the book itself to the Tamworth City Library Facebook page so we can pick the best one at the end of the week."
The winner will receive a $25 book and Lego prize pack. Entries close 6pm this Sunday.

The library is also running a variety of writing and drawing competitions, with plenty more prizes to be won.
"I think it's super important to keep these events alive because they're not only just a good distraction but they're good for your mental health," Mr Stilts said.
"These are the sort of workshop we would normally offer at the library to help upskill people with their STEM skills and literacy skills, so it's something we're really keen not to let slide during lockdown."
