The decision was made in line with the NRL and government biosecurity protocols.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the current relocation of all NRL fixtures to South East Queensland, Wests Tigers - in agreement with Wests Entertainment Group and Tamworth City Council - have confirmed the venue change for round 23.

After postponing the traditional Tamworth fixture in 2020 due to the COVID pandemic and deliberately scheduling the fixture late in 2021 season to hopefully avoid a second cancellation, Wests Tigers CEO Justin Pascoe said the decision was an extremely disappointing one to make but reaffirmed the club's commitment to the region.
"Having looked forward to this fixture all season it is certainly disappointing for the club, its members and fans and the people of Tamworth to have to confirm this venue change," Pascoe said.
"Wests Tigers have developed a fantastic relationship with the entire New England region over the past few years, having travelled there already this season for our pre-season camp and community involvements, and we were all eagerly anticipating being back at Scully Park for our traditional NRL game.
"This decision is one that is needed to ensure the continued safety of our players, officials and the wider community from the COVID pandemic, and comes off the back of the guidelines put in place by government and health authorities.
"I'd again like to thank Rod Laing and Wests Entertainment Group for their support of the club in this process and once again reaffirm our commitment to the region moving forward.
"Wests Tigers are deeply passionate about promoting the game of rugby league throughout country regions and look forward to running out at Scully Park next season."
Patrons who have already purchased tickets for the match will be eligible for a full refund through Wests Entertainment Group, who will contact those affected shortly.
