After a successful 2020 intra-club Girls Gala Day, GDSA invited clubs from across the Northern Inland to participate in the day this year.
And this year's event was just as successful.
"We were absolutely blown away to have 25 teams enter our first inter-club Girls Gala Day," event organiser and club secretary Helen Cygan said.
"It was amazing to see almost 200 girls aged between 7 and 15 enjoying themselves and having such a great day of football. It was a beautiful sunny day and such an incredible atmosphere."
Teams from Narrabri Junior Soccer Association, Coonabarabran Football Club, North Companions Football Club, Quirindi Football Club and Moree Junior Soccer Club along with local teams from Gunnedah all participated in the day.
Also in attendance on the day was Annelise Rosnell - female participation and inclusion officer - from Northern NSW Football.
Rosnell applauded the event for being such a success.
"A huge congratulations to the club on running such a successful day. It was inspiring to see so many girls from clubs across the region come together for a day of football. I hope it sparks a series of football events for girls in the Northern Inland region," she said.
This gala day was the second of the season following Inverell Football Club's carnival earlier in June.
This Sunday, Narrabri Junior Soccer Association are hosting their annual club carnival. Gunnedah will host their mixed carnival on Sunday 15 August followed by Moree Junior Soccer Club on Sunday 22 August. For more club carnival head here.
