The Tamworth District Cricket Association's latest president, David Mudaliar, said he would helm an organisation with "some strong characteristics".
Having taken over from longstanding TDCA president Ben Middlebrook, the West Tamworth veteran said the association was "very strong" financially.

It was also, he added, in "a strong position" with the Tamworth Regional Council and Cricket NSW.
"So they're things that need to be treated with the same respect that they have been," he said.
"It's just a case of tweaking things. I don't think there's many wholesale changes that need to be made."
Mudaliar, the manager of SportsPower, is one of Tamworth's most respected sportspeople
And while the batsman-wicketkeeper said he had "interests" and an "agenda" he wanted to promote as president, he was "pretty conscious of the fact that the [TDCA] committee and the clubs run the game.
"So I'm there just to facilitate, as best I can, the growth of cricket whilst basically listening to what the clubs' concerns are and trying to help find a way forward for the majority of the cricketers, for the betterment of the game and the people coming through."
As for proposals such as three-team semi-finals, Mudaliar said he would "have news on that in a month's time".
"We've got some proposals to tweak the format a little bit," he said, adding that there might be "changes to the structure of the competition" in terms of "separating the one-day, Twenty20 and two-day comps".
"But these are still early days and they're not make-or-break issues ... they're things we think that could move the competition forward".
Mudaliar said he was "very grateful" for the work done by the previous committee.
