"It's time for someone else to do that now," Mead said after City United's preliminary final loss to Old Boys.
Mead said he'll play wherever the club needs him to in the lower grades to help develop City's junior cricketers.

But the veteran won't be the only experienced player City will lose from the top grade.
"There's going to be a few changes next year. I know Brad Smith won't be playing and myself," Mead said.
Mead said City "were very competitive" this season and "coming second [on the ladder] is a testament to that".
City also had success in claiming the T20 title but Mead said batting let his side down at times throughout the year.
"We've got some young up and coming cricketers and that's where we need to focus - training hard in being able to occupy the crease, batting in partnerships - that would be an avenue [to go down]," Mead said.
